Principal Planning Officer (Policy) – Salary range £42,077 - £44,155 p.a. (Ref: 1G046P)

Senior Planning Officer (Policy) – Salary range £36,036 - £37,825 p.a. (Ref: 1G046S)

The successful applicant will take a lead role in the implementation of the Borough’s new Local Plan, in particular leading on infrastructure planning and establishing a way forward for the community infrastructure levy. Responsibilities will also include preparation of individual plans, strategies, action plans, planning briefs and areas of evidence as well as deputising for the Planning Policy Manager.

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be able to represent the Council and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, will be able to draft reports and explain a range of complex planning policy matters, and will mentor and manage more junior members of the team. Suitable planning qualifications as well as familiarity with the National Planning Policy Framework are essential. A full driving license is essential.

An appointment will be made at either Principal or Senior Planning Officer level depending on applicants’ skills and experience. NO AGENCIES PLEASE.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post.
