Housing Policy and Performance Manager (Ref: HPPM)

Salary £43,540.12 p.a.

This role is a great opportunity to help shape the future of the housing service, influence strategic decision‑making, and ensure that the best possible outcomes are delivered for residents as part of a busy and forward-thinking housing service. This role will suit an experienced and motivated Policy and Performance Manager, as they lead policy development, performance monitoring, and strategic analysis across the Housing Service.

This is a key role for someone who can combine strong analytical skills with a good understanding of housing legislation and confident leadership. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, clear and strong communication skills and will enjoy developing and reviewing housing policies, monitoring service performance, and ensuring team activities reflect current legislation, best practice, and local needs.

The role involves leading a small team and working closely with internal and external partners to drive improvement and deliver high‑quality outcomes for residents. As the Council does not hold its own housing stock, this role is key in working closely with housing association partners to make sure new affordable homes are delivered in a timely way.

If you are interested in this role, you must be computer literate and have a minimum of five GCSE (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including English and Maths. Experience of working in the public sector is preferred, with specific housing-related experience being an advantage. Training will be provided, particularly in relation to Council-specific policies and criteria.

A full driving licence would also be advantageous.
