Trainee Community Safety Officer (Full Time) - (Ref: TCSO)

Salary: £22,571 p.a. (37 hours per week)

Broxbourne Council is looking for a trainee Community Safety Officer who is enthusiastic and passionate about helping people. You will have good problem solving and communication skills and will be working in a Community Safety Team that covers a vast area of subjects, such as anti-social behaviour, hate crime, project developments, and CCTV, along with funding opportunities to deliver crime prevention schemes.

This post will involve managing anti-social behaviour casework, and looking at problem solving opportunities to prevent further issues – this will involve working with all partners to achieve the best outcome. You will also lead on crime prevention projects in the local community, and liaise with members of the public, councillors, partners including the police, social services, probation, and housing providers.

Full training will be provided along with developmental learning opportunities and qualifications in community safety and anti-social behaviour. We also have day courses with Hertfordshire County Council covering areas of social care and safeguarding for vulnerable children and adults to support your learning.

The Borough of Broxbourne is in South East Hertfordshire, just north of London and the M25, with a population of 96,000. It is an attractive place to live and work, and is just 25 minutes from Liverpool Street and Stratford International stations by train. There is also good access to airports and the rest of the UK.

This role requires a standard Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS). We are committed to safer recruitment, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The benefits package includes generous leave entitlement, a full training and development programme, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and free membership to the Council’s local leisure centres, which includes free access to gyms, swimming pools, fitness classes, racket sport sessions, a health suite and a range of generous discounts across other leisure and culture services.
