Salary: £15,000p.a. (£25,227 f/t equivalent). Initial 18 month contract.
(22 hours over 3 days per week)
Broxbourne Borough Council approved a new Arts, Culture and Heritage Strategy in September 2023. We’re now looking for an experienced arts development officer to implement and deliver the accompanying strategic action plan, working in partnership with a range of local, regional and national partners.
The successful applicant will develop Broxbourne’s creative economy tapping into the opportunities available in Hertfordshire and with Broxbourne’s proximity to London. You will use culture to contribute to the regeneration of the Borough’s town centres especially Waltham Cross. You will work with NHS and Public Health colleagues on programmes to use culture and creativity to improve the wellbeing of vulnerable residents. You will work with colleagues to develop new events, festivals, art displays and projects to showcase the rich heritage of the Borough.
We’re looking for applicants with experience of submitting successful funding bids who will work with partner organisations to generate investment in arts, culture and heritage projects across the Borough. This post will initially be funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund for 18 months. However, the successful applicant will be expected to submit funding applications to enable the continuation of the role.
Partnership working will be key for the delivery of the Arts, Culture and Heritage Strategy and you will have had experience of working with a range of statutory, community and voluntary organisations of varying sizes on creating arts, cultural and/or heritage projects.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post.
